The Dark Days Are Hard

When the waves you loved so much as a child threaten your life. When the people you love most can't be all you want them to be.  When the people you were counting on choose to go a different way. When the doctors leave a woman, no, a girl, open on the table for 6 hours because she can’t prove she’ll be able to pay for the C-section. When a boy works all day, earns money and uses it to feed his family’s bad habits instead of going to school. When a girl realizes that he’s walking away, but she’s still holding a baby in her arms. When a man finally escapes from the streets into a better life, and then they find a way to pull him back. When children all over the world wake up with the fear that this day might be their last. When you give your life, your heart, your soul… and its not enough. When you think its over, but its not. When your heart is supposed to be your ally, but it gives you away. When your own body does things you promised it never would. When your eyes are dry, completely, and then more tears come. When you want to give yourself fully, but something holds you back.

"He led you through the vast and dreadful desert, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions.  He brought you water out of rock.  He gave you manna to eat in the desert, something your fathers had never known, to humble and to test you so that in the end it might go well with you." —Deut 8:15,16

“Do not be afraid, little flock, for you Father, has been pleased to give you the kingdom.” —John 12:32

This is the thing to hold on to.

Pray, send your good vibes, as you can.
